Is your child curious about art? Do they love to explore, create, and express themselves? Creating With Courage is an immersive, hands-on homeschooling course that introduces young artists to local makers, museums, and art-based businesses.
Each week, children will meet working artists, explore exhibitions, and engage in creative projects inspired by their experiences. Through interactive learning and art-making, students will build confidence, develop creative skills, and gain a deeper appreciation for art and its role in the world.
What Your Child Will Experience:

Meet Local Artists & Makers – Visit working artists' studios, watch demonstrations, and create small projects inspired by their work.

Explore Museums & Art History – Engage with museum exhibits, participate in interactive games, and create reflective artworks.

Learn from Art-Based Businesses – Meet creative entrepreneurs in galleries, bakeries, florists, and more to discover how art is used in real-world businesses.

Course Details & Pricing - Classes meet once per week. Choose from individual sessions or full-course enrollment.

Dates: September 11 – October 23
Cost: $225 per child (+ $50 materials fee)

Materials Provided
Each participant receives:
Traveling Art Kit – A personalized art kit for use during the course.
Visual Journal – A sketchbook for documenting experiences and reflections.
Experiential Art Supplies – Materials specific to each week’s activity.
📢 Parents attending museum visits with their child may need to cover their own entrance fees (if applicable).

About the Instructor: Kelsey Courage
Kelsey Courage is a local artist, art therapist, and educator with a BFA in Metalsmithing & Jewelry Design (SCAD) and an MS in Art Therapy & Counseling (EVMS). She runs K.Courage Designs LLC, specializing in artisan jewelry and stained glass, and works with nonprofits to provide art-based therapy workshops.
