Working as an Art Therapist in a hospital throughout the pandemic I wore Disposable masks everyday. The theme of sunrises and sunsets became a pattern among patients who had recently survived a near death experience. At the end of each week I chose to embroider masks to represent survival and honor the journey my patients we experiencing while in recovery. After 10 months on the unit I had over 40 masks that are now displayed through out the city of Norfolk, Va. As a reminder that life is not disposable and we must work to protect each other.
